Welcome to the ZEISS Blue Book case study
Communicating corporate values, the vision, purpose, and mission is always a challenge in the enterprise. Complexity, cultural relevance, communication overload, and measuring the impact are pressing issues. ZEISS has been facing challenges with their Blue Book, the company’s host for their corporate culture. There’s a clear need to take the Blue Book from factful PDF to an emotional experience across devices and within a company-controled environment. The project won several awards, including "Deutsche Preis für Onlinekommunikation" in Gold.
The Challenge
Originally conceived as a printed and downloadable PDF document, ZEISS' "fundamental law", the Blue Book, needed a digital transformation to meet the demands of a global technology company. The publishing needed a controlled but digital environment that is able to cope with an increasing user experience and engagement.
The Opportunity
ZEISS has a lively and active global workforce of 42,000 employees in 50 countries. The company's intranet is the go-to place for everything ZEISS. However, while SharePoint is the least innovative environment, we strategyzed the Blue Book as the most engaging employee experience in the company's history and prototyped a corporate culture book that works on yet undiscovered edges of Microsoft's SharePoint.

80% of managers have actively adopted the Blue Book. Over 4,000 employees are involved: Improving the global corporate culture. Successful SharePoint integration: overcoming technical challenges.
